【Recap | Highlights of David WC MacMillan's Public Lecture at Taipei University of Technology on May 8th】

As part of the "2025 Taiwan Nobel Prize Week" series of events, Professor David WC MacMillan, the 2021 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, delivered a lecture on the afternoon of May 8th, attracting a large number of young students and science enthusiasts.

This lecture was organized by the Nobel Prize International Cultural and Educational Exchange Association and co-organized by Taipei University of Technology. Academician Chung-Yuan Mou of Academia Sinica was honored to deliver a speech, setting a high-level and warm tone for the event.

Professor MacMillan shared his journey from a small Scottish town to the international scientific stage, starting with his revolutionary research in asymmetric organocatalysis technology, encouraging young people to dare to ask questions and embrace the unknown. He emphasized, "Science is not out of reach, but comes from curiosity and observation of the world around us."
